Default Blessings should turn us into Bears/Wolves/Ravens

I know some people will say "It is a blessing, not a transformation".

Still, it is very disappointing and just looks odd when caster chars do a wolven pounce or breaks through barricades under the bear blessing... and still is a little monk or mesmer in courtly armor.

I wonder if there are limitations or bug issues for changing the char model on the fly, but I doubt this cannot be worked out.

If these blessings would change appearance, I would probably use them. So far I honestly cannot be arsed to use them, it is too disappointing not to be transformed.

/agree 100%

When I saw that we didn't transform in the preview, I thought that was just something they were still working on. Now it seems I was mistaken, and that it is intended. Bleh. I'd like to be a were- bear, wolf, and raven, please!

/totally agree

I have to say i was looking forward to seeing my character transform into a Wolf when i done the quest, but then all you get is the blessing, no change.

If the Norn can change, surely your character can too...it would just be a cool extra touch.

Peace,

Ferret

They should be Elite Forms, anyways. What's with the "Elite Skill" thing?
Turn yourself into a Bear, use the Bear model.
Turn yourself into a Raven, use the Hawk model (Maybe make it black-er).
Turn yourself into a Wolf, use the Wolf model.

They already have the models. Just use the coding that's used for all the other Elites and it'll be fine. I don't see how it would be any different than what Dervishes do every day.

ANet. Sneak this shit.

And what makes Dervish any different from other humans? Why can they "shape-shift"?
And why would they give us the Blessings in the first place then? If we're not "worthy" enough to take on that aspect... Then why can we take on that aspect?

Thought about/10

At first i thought fair enough we don't change form (when doing the missions)

But with the skills being elite i think there should be a change in form too

Norn are described as a race of shape-shifting half-giants who dwell in the Far Shiverpeaks.

I think it would just ruin the story line for GW2.

At the very least, there should be a ghostly outline of a bear/raven/wolf around your character when you activate the skill. I could live with that... actually, that could be quite awesome.

But as it is now, I can't wrap my mind around using a claw skill but hitting with an axe. That makes... no sense at all.

What's even funnier is when you do the bear attacks with a monk using a staff

and /signed cuz I think it would be cool to be able to change form.

Because they have the 'Blessings' of GODS, the Norn have the physical ability to transform and blessings of close spirits guides that aid them, imagen werewolf like;

As Lucifer said, i have to Agree.
Answer me... why 'Should' we be able to transform? The human form isnt able to Physicaly transform like that, Dervishers transform by forming outer armour/blessings from the gods, not physicaly shape shifting, but maybe alittle magicaly.
I admit the animations are a bit of a dissapointment however, just some bear head then afew paws for almost all the attacks, they need to be more focused instead of outside the char, right infront of their face, alot smaller, or just a slight outline of a bear form, but no "true" transformations.
sorry, /not signed

p.s. I swear a saw an elite version of those blessings? Someone from my alliance Pinged it.. and i have the feeling these 'do' change your form?
p.p.s Ah found it.. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Ursan_Blessing ..so we talking about this blessing and not the blessings you get from the quests? Since it's an elite i would like to see more of a physical change but.. prob not likely to happen =/

They're not Blessings. They're Elite Forms.
[skill]Avatar of Balthazar[/skill][skill]Avatar of Dwayna[/skill][skill]Avatar of Melandru[/skill][skill]Avatar of Lyssa[/skill][skill]Avatar of Grenth[/skill]
Just like Bear Form.

If the Dervish can be temporarily imbued with the power of the gods, why can't the characters be temporarily imbued with the power of the bear, raven, and wolf?

Obviously, Bear, Raven, and Wolf choose who they imbue with their power. They chose the Norn above everyone else.

But during your quest, they also imbue you with their power (Not every human in the world. Just you.).

If you want it to be cannon with the story of the Norn, you can pretend like it goes away after the story is over.

Norn -PHYSICALY- transform like a werewolf, Dervish's transform via blessings, magic and gift's from the gods. Gaining magical outer armour, weapons forged of power and blessings from the gods to make them stronger or resiliant, they "Take on the aspect" of a god, theirfor the actually transformation is a physical aura around them, like i said, magical armour around them, for turning their skin into wood, wearing a mask with 4 sides ect.

Unlike Dervishes who gain mythical armour, weapons and blessings, Norn actually -Change- shape, morph themselfs and become a bear, as i said imagen a werewolf transformation, i doubt a human body could withstand that kind of "blessing". They embude you with their power... why should they give you a form? I belive the elite versions should at least give a spirit like outline or hell even a form, but the blessings from the quests are just small power boosts they give you.

Both of them are physical transformations, to my knowledge. Unless Dervish no longer change shape into the gods when they use the Elite Forms.

Bear, Raven, and Wolf blessed the Norn so that they could temporarily change form.
Balthazar, Dwayna, Melandru, Grenth, and Lyssa blessed the Dervish so that they could temporarily change form.

If you want to get really nit-picky over it, all of the skills say "Form" in them.
I'll even supply you the links.
All Forms
Bear Form
Balthazar Form

When a Norn activates Bear Form, the animation for Avatar of Melandru is even displayed. This could mean that Melandru herself had something to do with their blessings. However, this is merely speculation.

They all say "Forms", so you can't say one is any different from the other.
If ANet just makes an outline of Bear, Hawk, or Wolf, I'll be content.

Well, we already have Black bear, Black Wolf and Raven models.

And Norn turn into were-bears, not into bears.

As long as the shape-change is into the animals, not into humanoid shapes like the shape change the Norn make, it will be fine with me, it won't be much different from using Junundu or Siege Devourers.
